Changes I'd make for QC.

YouMyPlug:

Changes I'd make for QC. To begin with, DM's if they will be remain to be active: Make it into level requirement Make it into friend requests based, so people decide who they talk to and who they accept thewy interact with. All subs: Level requirement as well. New people come into the site and promote other platforms which is against the rules of the site. Most of the time mods or ambis are not available so this can help reduce this by a ton. Questions: Make it so if a lot of people report a post it gets taken down, sometimes a lot of unnecessary posts are made and there is nobody around to take them down. Blocking Users: Make the annoying "Blocked Message" disappear. People don't like it and if they're blocking it's to not see them around and a message from a blocked person or multiple people is considered annoying by a lot of users. My take on this would be, if a person is blocked don't show their messages in All Subjects and don't show their posts either. QC Sub: I feel like the subs gets boring, therefore I have some suggestions on how to make it interesting so people actually have a reason to buy it. Profile Banners: Allow gifs as banners and for people to set anything as a banner, of course with accordance to the rules. Allow users to express themselves more in their profiles: This i feel like it would make profiles more interesting to look at hence people can make things more nice. Titles: Allow them to access some titles while their subscription is on to flex and display but what I mean is more than the titles we can already put. Extensions: Allow users to buy permanent stuff so that they can carry around, for example as I mentioned on the suggestion above, Titles, a more personalized profile and etc. This way people have choice to either buy a sub or just buy single items to flex. Allow people to connect more: I'd suggest a gaming category on Questions in which they can look for people to game with and to have a fun time with, post clips of games and etc. I know there's a discord server but a lot of people don't use or have discord.

YouMyPlug:

Please refrain from making unnecessary comments, if you agree just like the post as I will be adding more stuff into it.

YouMyPlug:

@ultrilliam @mxddi3 @nainoah

DarkRoseCandy:

i also feel like there should be a thing where if you have someone blocked i feel like they shouldn't be able to add you bc then so a lot of people like to spam it and it gets annoying but i also feel like these are stuff that would make this better

breiadabrattzz:

🤷🏽♀️lets see if they fr make this update ✋🏽 I need the request frrr

YouMyPlug:

Actually, I'd like for you guys to only comment feedback that I missed and what you guys think would be good. DO NOT respond to comments and only make comments about what you guys think the mods and owner should change. If you made a comment that doesn't qualify with what I just mentioned, please delete it. Otherwise, I'll have to request for comments to be turned off.

NaiNoah:

I’d suggest that name changing shouldn’t be a “sub only” thing as well, as long as the username fits the rules and isn’t inappropriate or anything it could be good, maybe like a coin based thing where if you reach a certain number or coins you can spend them on a name change. Or, once a month allow for names to be changed or sum

For this one, I'd suggest medals, if a coin system like in the discord server with \ai. That way Aeon is not as visibly useless?

U really think anyone cares ☠️☠️

Allow post creators to delete unnecessary comments, and to disable comments.

Nina001:

oh

This is very good, let's hope they actually read it :sob:

Nina001:

the fact jay is reading this is actually wow he might lowk lock in

Ultrilliam:

A number of good suggestions here,

@youmyplug wrote:

For this one I'd probably limit it to SS > like 50 or so to avoid abuse, and while I'm at it I should probably make it more clear what levels you unlock what

This one I may or may not do. If I do, it will be a very low level requirement since it's a core element of the site As for the others, let me ponder my orb a bit and see what it spits out

Nina001:

ohh okk

NaiNoah:

The orb speaks knowledge

YouMyPlug:

Yes, so I stated the reasoning behind why level requirement would be essential, since people can just join and immediately unlock access to all subs, which allows them to partially do whatever they want. Most of the time they come from other sites to promote or just for trolling and in a sense damage the site and experiences. Which why a level requirement would be very interesting and a good decision, in my opinion.

But then take into consideration people who modify their levels by themselves without properly taking the time to level up, I think it’s a common occurrence of most newer (sometimes older) users medal spamming as their way to get higher levels. What would stop newer people from joining and just making a new account and doing the spamming themselves

That is something to think about as well. Maybe nerf medals? lol

In my opinion the last suggestion regarding the gaming channel, doesn’t necessarily align with the goal of QC itself. Alongside that, there’s many different ways to post about your content from gaming (for instance YouTube links, Medal.TV links, etc.) As for limiting All Subjects to the a certain level, I’d say having it at a set level isn’t something viable for the reason that it is public even when logged out. Now, to add an idea onto that suggestion, you *could* make it so the user is required to do a list of things before they can chat fully, like such: 1. Verify account 2. Create a first post 3. Interact and discuss in first post at least x times 4. Etc It won’t completely void the creation of such events as you’ve stated, but it will aid in limiting it automatically starting at user join.

Nina001:

.. x times is crazy dewd

Questioncove tutorial sounds wild lol

NaiNoah:

I think there should also be added a feature requiring a certain age since the site is geared more for students (hs/college) maybe like a feature that has someone input an age and if it isn’t above a certain number the user can’t use the site. Ofc the odds of people being truthful are low and the possibilities of creeps being let in would be still there but it would add a good level of security almost for the site, especially since it’s pushed that the youngest age allowed here is 13.

YouMyPlug:

Indeed there's a number of things that will be very hard to do which will stop the amount of spam and the activities that happen. In a personal thought, I simply think something needs to be done at some point to at the LEAST minimize the number of situations that make the site a place hard to be in. Of course all of these are suggestions and it is understandable that some things just do not have a fix, but wouldn't hurt to try.

YouMyPlug:

Which is also the reason why I took the time and suggested it, also based myself in the things people had suggested before and things I have seen myself and I'm more than sure others have as well.

Not necessarily a tutorial, it’s just things that would *normally* be done before actually joining the “chat” portion of the site

I also think it would be a good idea for the DMs "delete message" function to actually work

Ultrilliam:

@mochaberries wrote:

It actually intentionally doesn't work at the moment, I should probably hide it. It was a feature that was going to be added but decided against because of abuse potential

or you could have a ss thing to go along with that. Like 25+ or something

MAGABACK:

And how would the "delete message" have abuse potential?

Nina001:

@magaback wrote:

idk what this was referring to but honestly i feel like they can add when you block someone it dosent appear up as "blocked message" cuz we already know they are block and since they are block I feel like it shouldn't pop up as 'blocked message' it should just be nothing and their user dosent show up

ohh, okok I see!! thank you

Extrinix:

@magaback wrote:

Deleting the message could cause a lack in the ability to report a message to one of the staff, and there's many ways to abuse the feature itself so it's better to not have it. Besides, if you really need to delete something, it probably shouldn't be getting sent here.

Nice

Thank you pug! I have some suggestions to add though: Timed comments, a set time that's up to moderators to reduce spam whilst at the same time increase the ability stay on topic. The ability to delete comments on YOUR post, would be handy I think. (Pug already mentioned this one) Also the ability to ban people from commenting on your post. I think a ban / unban button next to their name would be simple. Also while posting there should be a settings button for your post that includes the suggestions that get added and others

wouldnt the timed comments be the same thing as the feature we alr have that doesnt allow people type too fast

Twaylor:

you know how some people just make "troll" posts and it turns into a fast spam in the comments? With a timer (increase) it would encourage people to spend more time writing what they have in mind, producing better quality comments / questions whilst at the same time reducing spam

i think everything else you suggested would be cool, i just think the timed comments would be a little useless ngl. Once a post becomes easily spammed or filled with nonsense the moderators are semi quick to get it shut down, but that would also be a good reason why it would be good for the "Question poster" To be able to delete comments on his/her posts.

I love these ideas, and considering jay actually putting this into his thoughts is very tuff 🔥

@ultrilliam I really agree with the locking and deleting post and chats one make it so the op can lock their own post and/or delete specific messages

Make an option to delete group chats and or wipe it out. And perhaps let us make more group chats !
