OpenStudy (shadowfiend):

Initially, ignore the fraction. First find what 3% of 64 is. What do you get?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

31.1 right

OpenStudy (shadowfiend):

Not quite. What is 3% in decimals?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

0.03

OpenStudy (shadowfiend):

Sorry for the wait there, that's right, 0.03. So 0.03 * 84 is?

2.52. it ok i dont mind

OpenStudy (shadowfiend):

Exactly. So then you have 162 / 2.52.

OpenStudy (shadowfiend):

(Since we just found what's on the bottom of the fraction.)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok then i have to divide the numbers to 84

OpenStudy (shadowfiend):

What do you mean? The bottom of the fraction was `3% of 84', so we found 3% of 84 (2.52) and then put it in the bottom of the fraction to get 162 / 2.52.
