Do we know the shape of the room?
square room
So if I have a square room with sides of length \(s\), how do I find the area of the room?
The teacher gave an answer of 12, but not sure how she got to that answer. Can someone pls. explain?
So if you have a square with sides of a given length, the area is given by multiplying that length by itself. So a square with sides of length 4 has an area of 4 x 4 = 16. In this case, we have an area of 144, and we know that it's a square. The question is, what number, when multiplied by itself, gives you 144.
