HELP PLZ! y=13x-1 y=10x+29 wat is y and wat is x?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok. good two equations with two variables!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ya but the things is i can't find a number that would work for both of them its frustrating me! plz help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay, so what you would do since both the equations = y set the equations equal to each other. So 13x-1=10x + 29. Then you would add the 1 on the left side from both sides so you would get: 13x= 10x + 29 + 1 so your new equation would be: 13x = 10x + 29. Next subtract the 10x on the right side from both sides so your new equation would be 13x-10x = 29. Your new equation would be 3x=29. Divide each side by 3. x would then equal =9.667. and then you would insert x back into the original equation (just choose one) to find what y is.
