what does this equal? 2.7x + 4.3 = 12.94

do u know wat it equals chris

I will assume you are looking for the value of x. What we need to do is separate x from everything else, so we need to use a little algebra. \[2.7x+4.3=12.94\] Subtract 4.3 from both sides to get, \[2.7x = 12.94-4.3\] Now all you need to do is divide both sides by 2.7 and you get x.

The biggest key to solving these beginning algebra problems, and those you find later on, is that you have to do the same thing to one side, that you do to the other. If you subtract a number on the left side of an equation, you have to do the same thing to the right side.
