If you do the prime factorization of each term, you can easily determine what they have in common. OR What's the GREATEST factor you can take out from 15 and 10? Once you have that, what is the SMALLEST amount of variables that you can take out of p^2q and pq^2. That will be your GCF for the two terms and then you could see what's left over for each term. For example: 10x^2y + 20 xy^2 GCF (10, 20) = 10 GCF (x^2y, xy^2) = xy So GCF of (10x^2y, 20 xy^2) = 10xy Then, 10xy(x+2y) is the factored form.
