I have to convert a 95 foot tree into inches, yards & fractions of a mile. How do I convert the tree into a fraction of a mile? I get 0.018 of a mile. Is that 1/18th of a mile?

isn't it like 18/1000? then u can simplify...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

To convert feet into something else, multiply by a fraction that is equal to 1. For example, (12 inches) / (1 foot) is equal to 1. Do you see that? Now, by putting (1 foot) in the bottom of the fraction, it will cancel with the 95 feet of your tree: 95 feet * (12 inches) / (1 foot) = (95 * 12 / 1) inches. Do the arithmetic and you've got your answer. Repeat the process for the other units.
