In Session 60 recitation, the problem required computing the anti-derivative of (1500/100+(t-50)^2)-7. I understand to use substitution but how did it simplify to be the arctan?

If you use the substitution t-5 = 10 tan(theta) then, after you integrate and reverse the substitution, you get theta = arctan((t-5)/10). I hope that answers your question!
