Find the domain of the function.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the domain is where the function gives values, when the denominator =0 than the fraction does not exist so 4x-1 cannot be equal to 0 4x-1=0 x=1/4 so the domain is all the real numbers except x=1/4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so what does that mean

OpenStudy (anonymous):

does that mean (-inf,1/4)u(1/4,inf)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes that is one way of writing it, but I prefer this: \[ x \in \mathbb{R} \] \x=1/4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this should be one line, but I could not make it :-)
