whats so special about apple products which makes them expensive and highly loved?

Why Do People Love Apple?

Apple attracts peeps by repeatedly producing new innovations that surprise the freak out of us -- releasing our dopamine happy juices, and attracting us to the company with every new/pending innovation.

Without Apple's endless stream of bringing us something completely novel that revolutionizes how we see a product category, we'd focus on other innovative companies that can supply the happy juices for our brains.

To make your customers happy forever, provide them something new forever.

You don't need to revolutionize X like Apple, but constantly innovating and providing new things for your customers over an eternal period will keep their eyes on you.

APPLE ARE THE B@STERDS! ;p The only apple product I ever had was an Apple Iphone 3G, and it cost me 400 dollars! And now is dead, I solder a 25 cents quarter on the back cuz I realized I didn't liked the f..ng, Apple there! It still works but, the battery back got screw ;p

Well , I preffer Android for being an awesome os, but still going to use my ihpone 3G, gotta buy new battery pack, put it on, and a new back plate for the phone (or just leave the one it has with the quater on :D ). I installed IDroid in my iphone 3G while back, and worked great, so I can have IOS and Android 2.3 in an iphone 3G. Also I am liking Windows Phone 7 and I will get later on a HTC HD7, but for the meantime just have the iphone fixed first.

There is some actual merit to their popularity. I have spent some time surveying undergraduates on this topic, and I also go "both" ways (actually, I use Macs, iOS, Blackberry, Windows, Linux, and occasionally others - this is being typed on a MBPro). Personally, I like that they implement advances in I/O tech in ways that make them accessible (which others fail to do - note the cruddy finger swipe readers on many Windows laptops - which are low quality and store a hash of the fingerprint that is not usable for rich identification beyond differentiation of existing users on the machine). Apples tend to be rugged and wear well during travel. They look professional. These things have not always been true. There are definitely exceptions like the low-quality capacitors they put in the G5 iMacs 7 years ago as well as the plastic case and clasp on the Mac Books around the same time. Nonetheless, in general, I think they do a better job at keeping up the quality than Dell, Lenovo, or HP for personal electronics.
