What are the differences in mass, stability, and reactivity that are caused due to the differences between the sodium atom and sodium ion?

Na has a full electron shell, the sodium ion (Na+) is missing an electron and is there for 1 electron lighter than the full sodium atom. The reactivity of the sodium ion is much higher as atoms have a much greater affinity for full electron shells
