If W = {1, 2, 3, 4 …} and subset Z = {positive odd integers}, what is Z'? Answer {1, 2, 3, 4 …} {2, 4, 6, 8, …} {5, 6, 7, 8 …} { }

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

W is the set of positive integers Inside of W is the subset Z, which is the set of positive odd integers ----------- So to form Z', start with W = {1, 2, 3, 4, 5, ...} Now kick out all of the positive odd integers to get Z' = {2, 4, 6, 8, ...}

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

Another name for Z' is the set of positive even integers
