Can anyone tell me simply What is meant by Spherical shell?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The surface of a sphere (as opposed to the volume inside.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So there is nothing there inside then.......?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So, it doesnot enclose anything then

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the spherical shell is juste the surface, but there can be another figure in the volume of the sphere

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So, Can we call it a hollow sphere?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sure

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks mates

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So, what about concentric spheres then?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ow ok, can you explain your problem with concentric spheres ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I mean Is spherical also a concentric spheres?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I mean Is spherical shell also a concentric sphere?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

those are sphere with the same center but with different radius

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so , two spherical shell can be concentric spherical shell if they have the same center, that's not a problem.
