Moderator: What is the protocol for asking a question, and then re-posting an hour later? Ie, if no help is received the first time round, is it OK to post the same question again?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If, after a reasonable time has elapsed, u haven't had a response, I think it is fine to repost (and perhaps delete the original so as to avoid confusion). The problem is when people repost after 10 minutes and do it repeatedly.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

post it 100 times a day !!!

what is the problem?

Inner products, re linear algebra :) also a linear transformations question from yesterday :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

go ahead and repost it, i'll take a look at it.

there is no set standard with which to discern against. The rudeness tends to be when a person asks their question, starts to get help on it by a few people, then reposts it if noone has simply stated an answer - as tho we are sposed to be giving up our free time to encourage their ignorance. Is this the case for all reposters? of course not. So those who answer the questions tend to get a feel for who really wants to "study"; and who just want their work done for them for free.\[\] Other than that, feel free to repost any questions you may have for clarification, or if the posts has gone dead and you need more help on it. You can even copy the link to the original, but that may be cumbersome at times for lengthy posts to see what has and has not been covered :)
