So, what is linux? and what is so good about it?

As some people use Windows, some people use OSX, annother group of people use linux. Linux is an operating system built from the UNIX kernel, as osx was. The main difference between Linux and other operating systems is that Linux is open source. That is where Linux gains its popularity among IT professionals, software engineers, and computer techies. It being open source means that if you need linux to do something, like run a server, a home computer, or even a cell phone, it can easily be adapted to the needs of the user. The main reason people like it so much and use it so often is because of the strong base with large functionality, and then complete customization of all the layers on top.

linux also provide safety and u will never face problem of virus in linux it also gives smooth and faster os to home user and many other features
