5x raised to the power of 2=8y-3 is this equation a linear equation in two variables? why or why not?

It is not linear, because x is raised to a power of 2 it is a quadratic equation
This is not a linear expression since x raised to the power 2 is x^2. This makes the equation quadratic and therefore a curve.
