whats the most used computer language?

OpenStudy (osanseviero):

General Results C and C++ are the most used, but they arent really easy. Java is easy and it is the third most used. Then we go through some scripting and designing languages like PHP and Javascript. Then python, which is used a lot for learning purposed and other things. C#, Perl, and SQL come next. Yahoo Results (this is an investigation project done by others, not me) In searches with the words "language programming", you can find, in this order 1. C++ and C in all the searches 2. Java in most of them 3. PHP, Perl, and C# half of the times 4. Python, Visual Basic, Shell , Ruby, Javascript, SQL, Delphi, ColdFusion, Lua, Actionscript, D and Pascal almost never. Most wanted (This is an investigation project done by others, not me) The searches for which programmer´s job are searched 1. PHP appears in all the searches 2. SQL, C++, C, Javascript and C# around half of the times For other investigations of this, look at http://langpop.com/ (nothing of this was copy pasted)

Depends what you are trying to do with your website.

If you want to build a website, you can learn Javascript. On the client side (the web browser) you can use it to build dynamic content. On the server side you can use NodeJS to power your servers. It's killing two birds with one stone. What's better is that Javascript has an much smaller set of things to learn compared to Java, C++, etc. Then again, Javascript isn't meant for actually processing data. For that you'll probably want something else.
