How would I start on editing the software of a program? (ie: game, software)

Yep...there are thousands or millions of basic programs out there. It is just code. The main thing is to download a place where you will work with the code.

You may:
1. Start learning basic things of a language.
2. Search for a compiler that accepts several languages
3. Search for the code: google them, download swf´s of games, search at opensource websites, etc.

What language? And programs are not really hard. Actually, making the compilator to add 2 numbers is already a program
