Find the product. (x+7)^2

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

(x+7)(x+7) x^2 + 7x + 7x + 7(7) x^2 + 14x + 49

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

(x+7)^2 (x+7)(x+7) x(x+7)+7(x+7) x^2+7x+7x+49 x^2+14x+49

If you have the form \[(a + b)^2\] A easy way to do this is to remember that the equation equals \[a^2 + 2ab + b^2\] So in the problem \[(x+7)^2\] a = x and b = 7 so just plug in the numbers and you get \[(x)^2 + 2(7x) + (7)^2\] Which equals \[x^2 + 14x + 49\]
