What's the difference in the boiling between methane and methanol in terms of the intermolecular forces? @MIT OCW Biology

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The intermolecular forces of methanol consists of hydrogen bonds and van der Waals forces while methane's only consists of van der Waals forces. Therefore, the boiling point of methanol is higher than methane since more energy is needed to break the intermolecular forces in methanol.
