ok from the diagram we can say it is a square thus the opposite = adjacent. from our equation\[opp^2 + adj^2 = hyp^2\]\[opp^2 +opp^2 = 6^2\]\[2opp^2 = 36\]\[opp^2 = 36\div2\]\[opp = \sqrt{18}\] from the diagram we can measure the total length of the diagonal as 2 times 6 = 12 so using similar triangles we have \[6\div12 = \sqrt{18}\div length\]\[length = 12\sqrt{18} \div 6\]\[length = 2\sqrt{18}= \sqrt{4*18} = \sqrt{72}\] Area = \[length^2 = (\sqrt{72})^2 = 72\] Perimeter = 4 x length = \[4\times \sqrt{72}= \sqrt{16*72}=\sqrt{1152}=33.9\]
