Not sure in what context you need this.  But if it is relative to program for children you may need to first define what constitutes respect.  Children need some frame of reference. Do you start by teaching them the 'Golden Rule'?  Then once you have defined it; you discuss the process by which the child would determine they are respecting themselves and others. Hope this helps you get started.

I agree, this is a good question. How do you, Matt, evaluate respect? What do you consider respectful? What is not respectful? Do you have different standards for how you want to be respected and how you view others being respected or not respected? And as Cielyn has said, you can start with a standard, such as the Golden Rule, and measure off from there.
