find the unit and normal vectors: r(t) =

OpenStudy (amistre64):

unit tangent and normal?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

r(t) = <T,1/2(T^2), T^2> r'(t) = <1,T, 2T> r''(t) = <0,1,2> divide each one by its magnitiude to unit it out

OpenStudy (amistre64):

5 feet divide by 5 gives 1 foot 16 inches divided by 16 gives 1 inch 150 yards divided by 150 gives 1 yard

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay so i got the tangent as 1/\[\sqrt{5T ^{2}+1}\], T/\[\sqrt{5T ^{2}+1}\], and 2T/\[\sqrt{5T ^{2}+1}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but then normal i have to do derivitive of that so it seems too complicated

OpenStudy (amistre64):

i already did the derivative for the normal; r''=<0,1,2>; units to /sqrt(5)
