Suppose that the student working besides you on the laboratory bench spills one of the liquids she is using in this experiment. - What reagent could you use to determine whether the spilled liquid is 0.10M NaOH? Briefly explain what you would observe using this reagent if the liquid were 0.10M NaOH.

NaOH+HCl-->H2O+NaCl 0.10 moles of NaOH is 1/10 of Avogadro's number. That gives you how many molecules of NaOH you have; this is equal to how many Na, O, and H you have. You need an equal amount of HCl. Hence, you need 1/10 of Avogadro's number, since the chemicals combine at a 1:1 ratio. The reaction would be water and... uh, NaCl. I don't know how the latter looks in lab, but you can Google that. XD
