7log9(x+8)=7

OpenStudy (mertsj):

Is 9 the base?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah

OpenStudy (mertsj):

Divide both sides by 7

OpenStudy (mertsj):

\[\log_{9}(x+8)=1 \]

OpenStudy (mertsj):

Now put it into its exponential form.

OpenStudy (mertsj):

\[9^1=x+8\]

OpenStudy (mertsj):

\[x=1\]

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

another way to solve it is by power rule.. log_9 (x+8)^7 = 7 change to exponential form 9^7 = (x+8)^7 get the seventh root of both sides 9 = x+8 x = 9-8 x=1 whichever you find more comfortable :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

7log9(x+8)=7 -> log9(x+8)=7/7 =1 => (x + 8) = 9 Thus x = 9 -8 = 1
