How fast is the water level rising if water is filling the tub at a rate of 0.7 ft^3/min The base of the tub is 18ft^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

volume=area of base*height, since the area of the base is constant and the height changes as a function of the volume, then you can just plug in the rate of change of the volume for the volume and the height will be the rate of change of the height. ie. change in volume=area of the base*change in height: 0.7=18*dh : 0.7/18=rate of change of the height of the tub in ft/min
