HELP PLEASE WITH MOMENTUM !

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A 200 Kg car is traveling at 5 meters per second. momentum = 10000 A constant force of 500 n is applied for 5 secs to the same car in the above question by its engine. What is the impulse applied to the car by the force of its engine? impulse = 2500 What is the new momentum? = 12500 What is its new speed? What is the increase in its speed? What impulse is required to stop the car? What is the force required if we wanted to stop the car in 5 seconds?

Impulse is defined as\[I = \int Fdt\]We know from Newton's Second Law that\[F = {dp \over dt}\]Therefore, \[I = \int\limits {dp \over dt} dt\]\[I = \Delta p\]Since mass remains constant\[\Delta p = m \Delta v = m(v_f - v_i)\]Therefore, \[F \Delta t = m(v_f - v_i)\] This should get you started.
