\[x=\frac{-3 \pm \sqrt{9-4(2)(6)}}{2(2)}\] \[x=\frac{-3 \pm \sqrt{39i^2}}{4}=\frac{-3 \pm i \sqrt{39}}{4}\]
so which of these does that translate into? A. -1.7, 2.3 B. -2.4, 2.4 C. -2.3, 0.8 D. No real solution
D no real solution - try plotting a graph = If it doesnt cross the 0 axis then it has no real solutions - try here http://rechneronline.de/function-graphs/
PS perhaps a simpler graphing tool http://www.mathopenref.com/quadraticexplorer.html
