integrating is not the act of antidifferentiation. it is entirely possible to integrate without having the antiderivative

if you have the time, could you please elaborate? i thought integrating and antidiff were the same???

integrating is finding the area under a function, this is done by choosing the unique number inbetween the "lower sums" and the "upper sums" to be defined as it's area and it is always evaluated between two points. an antiderivative is like the set of all integrals for that function, and the only reason we can even say they are equal is because of something called the fundamental theorem of calculus.
