x = 5 is a linear equation Answer True False
true
as the power of x is one
this is a linear equation right everyone??
I guess it would be an equation, but not a function. B/c it's just a vertical line at x=5
Maybe she thinks it's just a point.
A linear equation is of the form, Ax+By+C=0 where A and B both cant be zero. Hence its true. @cuddlepony
its not just a point no matter what you input into x it will always = 5 thus it is a constant function
The Out put of the function is always equal to 5 the input of the function is a variable Thus it is a constant line
Yeah, so cant it be treated as a special case?
oh I was wrong sorry Just looked at the definition of linear, it is linear. Mathematics able to be represented by a straight line on a graph; involving or exhibiting directly proportional change in two related quantities: linear functions | linear relationship. 2 progressing from one stage to another in a single series of steps; sequential: a linear narrative.
This is not a special case.
Yeah, plus i'd recommend you to skim though this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linear_equation
sorry if I caused any confusion
No thanks I know what a Linear equation is, brain is just dead from school
Still, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linear_equation#Special_cases
