If x - 3 = 12, then what is the value of x - 3 + 3? Why? (

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The value of x - 3 + 3 is 15. If you solve for x in the first equation you get 15. The subtracting and adding of three in the second cancels out so you are left with just 15.
