My textbook says that the motor car foot brake is an example of class I levers and a lock and key are examples of class II levers. How so? (explain with position of fulcrum, load, and effort and reasons.) Thanks!:)

OpenStudy (mani_jha):

When you apply a brake, the effort is on the break, the load is the wheel and the point of attachment of the brake to the car is the fulcrum. Do you get the picture? The fulcrum is thus between the load and effort.
