The rate of reaction between zinc and sulfuric acid is measured by weighing a zinc plate, which is then placed into a beaker of the acid. Every 10 minutes it is removed, rinsed, dried and reweighed. This is continued until all of the acid is consumed. a) Sketch the graph you would expect for the mass of the zinc plate against time in the acid. b) At what point is the reaction rate the greatest? How can you tell? c) Suggest another way that the rate of this reaction could have been measured.
