Find g(f(x))

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is there a g= and a f=?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If f(x) \[\sqrt{x-3}\] and g(x) = \[\sqrt{{x ^{2}}+5}\]

OpenStudy (bahrom7893):

f(x) = sqrt(x-3) To find g(f(x)), replace all the xs in g(x) by sqrt(x-3) g(f(x))

OpenStudy (bahrom7893):

g(f(x)) = sqrt[ (f(x))^2 + 5 ] just replace that f(x) by sqrt(x-3)

OpenStudy (bahrom7893):

and then simplify.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yep that's what I did, and I got sqrt(sqrt(x^2 + 5) - 3)

OpenStudy (bahrom7893):

no u found f(g(x)), do it the other way around.

OpenStudy (bahrom7893):

u plugged in g(x) into f(x). U gotta plug in f(x) into g(x)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ah ok. Cheers
