In NaF solution, HF and F^-1 form a conjugate acid-base pair. What does it mean??

OpenStudy (jfraser):

a conjugate acid-base pair is a pair of molecules or ions that coexist in aqueous solutions because of the dissociation of an acid or base. Using acetic acid as an example\[HC_{2}H_{3}O_{2}(aq) \leftarrow \rightarrow H^{+1}(aq) + C_{2}H_{3}O_{2}^{-1}(aq)\] the acetic acid and the acetate ion are a conjugate acid-base pair.

so from my question, HF is the conjugate acid and F^-1 from the NaF solution is the base.. that's why it's called conjugate acid-base pair rite???

OpenStudy (jfraser):

yes
