[HBr] How many ions from this compound are present, in solution, if one molecule of the compound is dissolved in water?

HBr dissociates into H+ and Br- so that should give you your answer. Technically the equation would be HBr + H2O --> H3O+ and Br- but H3O+ can be simply represented as H+

so how any ions is that? 3? i tried 2 but it was wrong.

Hmm it should be 2 but if they are only counting acids/bases then I guess it is just one?
