what mass of oxygen is required to react completely with 24g of CH4 in the following reaction? CH4 + 2O2 = CO2 + 2 H2O Ive got the answer 12g of O please tell me if Im wrong.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

coefficient of CH4 is 1 ok 24/16=n 3/2=n now u see for the coefficeint of 1 there is 3/2mole then for coefficent of 2 there will be 3mole now 3=mass of oxygen/32 96gm=mass of oxygen

use stoichiometery coefficient thing here ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

16 g needs 64 g oxygen 1 g CO2 needs 4 gram oxyeg 24 gm needs 96 gm Oxygen Im a fool!!! Its done
