You can substract 3 from both sides of the equation\[\frac{1}{2}(5x+2)=14-3\]
I think the answer is 4 or -4, not sure...
You can plug those values and if the equation it's true then it's ok.
multiplying by 2 both sides of the equation you get: \[5x+2=22\]
x = 4. You're right
