A compound contains 27.3 g of C and 72.7 g of O. What is the empirical formula for this compound? please show molar conversion and ratio calculation

First convert to moles by dividing by molar mass. Then you find which one has the smaller amount of moles. Should be Carbon. Then divide both the number of moles you found by the smaller amount of moles you found previously. You should get a one for carbon and a two for oxygen. The empirical formula would be CO2 which also happens to be it's molecular formula. See if that makes sense.
