How many grams of water can be produced when 11.7 moles of ethane (C2H6) react with excess oxygen gas?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Unbalanced equation: C2H6 + O2 → CO2 + H2O

Can you try to balance the equation first?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2C2H6 + 7O2 --> 4CO2 + 6H2O Balanced now for the math stuff, ^^ 11.7Mol ethane * 6Mol H2O/2Mol C2H6 * 18g H2O/Mol H20 = 631.8g H2O But you may wish to adjust for the weight of water calculable from your periodic table, and sig figs.
