A mass oscillating up and down while attached to the bottom of a spring can be modeled using simple harmonic motion. If the weight is displaced from its equilibrium position a maximum of 7 centimeters and it takes 3 seconds to complete one cycle. what is the equation of the modeleling function

OpenStudy (jamesj):

The amplitude is 7 and the period of motion is 3 seconds. Now, what trig function has that property: A.cos(ft + c) for some constants A, f and c. Find those constants given the behavior described.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

time period=3 sec.find \[\omega\].. A=0.07m. equation of the function:\[y =A \sin(\omega*t+\phi)\] or\[y=A \cos(\omega \times t+\phi)\]...at t=0 Y=0 using this find \[\phi\] and get your answer...
