okay. now see decreasing the volume means, decreasing the space for the movement of the molecules. hence more collisions between molecules, and so more collisions between the right molecules (that is K2 and I2), so the initial rate of product formation definitely increases.
also since this is an addition reaction, collision frequency between the molecules of K2 and I2 is an important factor for the rate too.
