I need some help. I understand parts a - c but need help on d & e. (a) How many days would it take you to spend $1 million if you spent $9 per minute? (Round your answer to the nearest whole number.) 77 days (b) How high would a stack of 1 million pennies be? (Assume a penny is 1.55 mm thick.) 1550 m (c) How high would a stack of 1 million quarters be? (Assume a quarter is 1.75 mm thick.) 1750 m (d) How high would a stack of pennies worth 1 million dollars be? Answer is meters (m) (e) How high would a stack of quarters worth 1 million dollars be? Answer in meters (M)
For D, how many pennies are in a million dollars? Multiply that by 1.55 mm, then convert to meters. For E, do the same but with quarters! :D
may I ask how many pennies are there in one dollars :)) haven't heard of a penny. not american :))
100 pennies are in $1
kymber, thought thats what I did but my answer is not correct.
100,000,000 pennies in a million dollars multiplied by 1.55 is 155,000,000 millimeters then converted to meters is 155,000 meters. That's what I got, what did you get?
15500
I think it's 155,000 :P
got 175000 but thats wrong for part e
ah so for d.) if we have a stack of pennies worth 1million dollar we'll have a stack of 100 million dollar then multiply that to 1.55 mm to get 155000000 millimeters which is just 155000 meters exactly like kymber's answer e.) so if there are 4 quarters in one dollar we'll have a stack of 4 million quarters then multiply that to 1.75 mm to get 7000000 mm which is 7000 meters
thank you
