OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

\[\frac{1(x+3)(x+6) + 2(x)(x+6) + 3(x)(x+3)}{(x)(x+3)(x+6)} = 1\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i have to find x.. it says there are 3 possible values for x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes you get a cubic equation when you solve this

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[x(x+3)(x+6)=6x^2+30x+18\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[x^3+3 x^2-12 x-18 = 0\] is the equation you have to solve

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you can check that one of the roots is 3, then the other two you can find using the quadratic formula once you factor out \[x^3+3 x^2-12 x-18 =(x-3)(x^2+6x+6)\]
