An electron of mass Me initially at rest moves through a certain distance in a uniform electric field in time t1. A proton of mass Mp also initially at rest takes time t2 to move thro equal distance in uniform electric field E. t2/t1 is equal to? a) sqrt(Me/Mp ) b)sqrt(Mp/Me) c)Me/Mp d)Mp/Me

OpenStudy (ujjwal):

F=ma or, eE=ma or, a=eE/m Now use formula S=1/2 at^2 (starting from rest) solve further (keeping S same for both proton and electron and time t1 and t2 respectively).. Option (a) is correct answer..
