For the following reaction, identify the element that was oxidized, the element that was reduced, and the reducing agent. Give an explanation for each answer. SnCl2 + PbCl4 SnCl4 + PbCl2

Try writing the oxidation states of all the reactacts and products in the equation. The reducing agent will get oxidized itself. So for that equation: Sn+2 changes to Sn +4 Pb +4 changes to Pb +2 Hope you can figure out the rest by yourself :-)
