12. A fence has poles at points A(1,-1), B(-4,6) and C(-3,-5). If each pole is shifted 2 units up and then pole A is further shifted, 3 units to the right, what is the change in the square unit area enclosed?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

using determinant you can easily evaluate the area plot co-ordinate of point in graph then after shifting new points will be (1,1) (-4,8) and (-3,-3)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

new area will be 24 sq units earlier the area was 24 only so seems there is no net change in enclosed area

OpenStudy (anonymous):

by adding 2 units in each A B C POLES..i,e un co ordinates you wil;l get A=(1,1) B=(-4,8) C=(-3,-3) THEN SHIFT A 3 UNITS MORE SO IT WILL BE= A(1,4) NOW USE DETERMINANT METHOD FOR AREA THAT IS:
