Do you know what the definition of a polynomial is?

Basically you can have five things in polynomials: - addition - subtraction - multiplication - division - exponents that are *positive* and *whole* (so no fractions)

An expression made with constants, variables and exponents, which are combined using addition, subtraction and multiplication, ... but not division. The exponents can only be 0,1,2,3,... etc. And it can't have an infinite number of terms.

The five you posted are: \[ 1\cdot x^2 - 3x^{\frac{69}{2}}\\ 1\cdot x^2 - 3x^{69} - \sqrt{x}\\ (-1)\cdot x^2 - 3x^{68} - \sqrt{2.4}x\\ 1\cdot x^2 - 3x^{-96}\\ (-1)\cdot x^2 - \frac{3}{2}x^{69} - \sqrt{2.4} \]

No, () is just used for grouping, it's not really an “operation”.

Remember I said no fractions in exponents. Are there any of the options that have fractions in their exponents?

Technically you're right, but remember that the \(\frac{3}{2}\) in e is not an exponent. It's multiplied in, so it's safe.
