How to calculate the pH given a particular H+ concentration? I remember something about log [H+]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[Ph= -\log_{10} {[H+]}\] Put the H+ concentration you will get the ph

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is it the same for pOH? and if they give you the moles of H+ how are you going to determine the pH?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If you want to find just replace H+ by OH- in the above formula. You need to find concentration or else consider volume given as one litre(for problem solving only)

Alright, thanks! I'll try to work on several questions.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok thanks for asking the question.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks for answering =D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@ANKITOM, the pedant in me feels the need to correct your notation. We write pH, not Ph. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@eseidl Yes you are Absolutely right.thanks for correcting me.I will follow the correct form from the next time. thanks once again
