OpenStudy (anonymous):

is the activation energy for an exothermic reaction smaller than that off an endothermic one?

OpenStudy (chmvijay):

yaa true !!!bcoz the relesed energy can be utilised to decrease the activation energy!!!

OpenStudy (foolaroundmath):

Not necessarily. Activation energy has very little to do with whether a reaction is endothermic or exothermic. Activation energy only represents the difference in energy of the transient state and the initial state.

OpenStudy (chmvijay):

yaaa ur right !!!but some time it also effects!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay, then what are the characteristics of an exothermic reaction.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you @chmvijay
